Cricket holds a special place at Sharon School, where it is not only a celebrated sport but also a platform for developing skill, discipline, and teamwork. The school offers high-quality cricket coaching led by a dedicated and experienced team of professionals who are passionate about nurturing young talent.
Our cricket programme is inclusive and thriving, with both boys and girls showing great enthusiasm and commitment. Many of our pupils go above and beyond by voluntarily practicing in the nets during their free time, honing their batting, bowling, and fielding skills.
The 1st XI team, under the expert guidance of Mr Tapiwa Mapuranga and Mr Hillary Timoni, has delivered impressive performances over the years. Their mentorship has helped elevate the team’s standards, with several players going on to represent Harare at provincial level—a testament to the depth of talent and coaching excellence at the school.
Cricket is played during the First and Third Terms, allowing pupils ample opportunity to train, compete, and enjoy the game across different seasons. The school also recently enhanced its cricket facilities, with the revamped Sue Holmes Pavilion now offering a picturesque and welcoming environment for parents and visitors to enjoy the matches.
At Sharon School, cricket is more than just a sport—it is a discipline that builds character, encourages leadership, and inspires a love of the game that often lasts a lifetime.
