Athletics is a vital component of the sporting programme at Sharon School, forming an essential part of our commitment to holistic education and physical development. We believe that athletics at primary school level lays the foundation for a healthy lifestyle, promotes discipline, and instils confidence in young learners.
The 2025 athletics season was especially significant for Sharon School, as it marked our inaugural participation in the Golden League—a prestigious athletics platform that brings together talented young athletes from various schools.
We are proud to be part of the Golden League Athletics family and look forward to growing within this competitive and inspiring community.
From Grade 3 to Grade 7, all pupils actively participate in our structured and inclusive Athletics programme. This wide involvement ensures that every child is given the opportunity to explore and develop their athletic potential, regardless of skill level.
We place strong emphasis on both technique and sportsmanship, encouraging pupils to strive for their personal best while supporting one another as teammates.
Each year begins with our Interhouse Athletics in the first term, where pupils compete with enthusiasm and team spirit to earn points for their houses. Beyond the school gates, our athletes also take part in the Golden League conference meets, with four major meets held throughout the season. The highlight of the season is the Inter-Conference Athletics Meet hosted at Lilfordia School, where the best athletes from all participating schools compete at a high level of performance and sportsmanship.
At Sharon School, athletics is more than just competition—it is a celebration of effort, growth, and potential. Through our athletics programme, we aim to develop not only stronger athletes but also confident, resilient, and disciplined individuals who carry the values of sport into every area of life.
